Hey everybody. There is no excuse for why I haven't updated you on my summer so far.
Lets see....
Since the last time you all heard from me I got fired from my job. And before you get all empathetic and start feeling bad for me. I was looking for a way out of that job. It had come to the point where I was totally unfulfilled. And Very Unhappy. For example I got pulled into the office by my manager because I made cupcakes and brought them in to give away for people. And was told by my manager that me giving away cupcakes made it look bad because on those days the frozen cupcakes we had didn't sell. So yes, while I miss my co-workers and my regular customers that made my days go by. I am better off somewhere where I am more fulfilled with my job. So yeah as of July 8th I have been jobless.
With that said the job hunt still continues. I did take a few days off the search to celebrate my 32nd birthday. Yes people I am old. And I am no where near where I thought I would be. And somehow I also allowed myself to fall short of where I planned on being. And to tell the truth it is a little depressing when I reflect on it, which I try not to do often.
But yes for my birthday I took a little trip to Dallas, Texas. Its funny as a fat guy I hate the heat. And all of my friends know that, and they are all wondering why. For those of you who are regular readers, you should be aware that I usually go to Gamesday around the time of my birthday. This year Games Workshop the company that usually hosts Gamesday didn't announce one for North American this year. And unfortunately neither I nor my friend Doug could afford to travel to England to go to Gamesday so we decided to visit the home of Doug's favorite Baseball team The Texas Rangers who make their home in Arlington Texas which is smack between Dallas and Fort Worth. Also home to the Dallas Cowboys, and Six Flags over Texas. And from behind our section you could look out at AT&T field where the cowboys play. The picture below was just after Friday's game ended.
Because Doug is such a Rangers fan we had a tour of the Stadium. So this is the field from the Rangers dugout. Right in the center of the picture is the pitchers mound
And below is out view of the game from our seats in the upper deck.

The really fun portion of the week was at Six Flags. I am a huge roller coaster fan. Even in my old age I still love to ride a good coaster. And the thrill was even more so because last year at this park a woman died on one of their coasters . The coaster you see in the pictures is not that coaster, The one in the pictures is The Titan an all steal coaster that was beautiful. That drop was awesome. But The Texas Giant is the coaster the lady died on. It is a beautiful wooden coaster. Unfortunately it turns out I am too Fat to ride the coaster. Yes, they are doing the best they can to follow the safety guidelines. Apparently the safety harnesses need to click three times to be fully locked down. And for me it didn't. So I didn't get to ride The New Texas Giant or the Batman while it was going backwards. I am a little sad, but it gives me a cause to lose some weight.
The other thing i enjoyed about Dallas is how the skyline light up at night. In most of the southern cities I have been in the buildings aren't as tall and they don't light up like that. Even cooler is the night the Rangers won, Reunion Tower displayed the Rangers logo in the team colors. The best picture I have is the one on the bottom taken from the car as I am yelling at Doug to pull to the side of the highway so I can get a good picture. That didn't happen so that's the best I could do.
All in all, even with the heat being in the 100's the entire time I was there I have to say I enjoyed Dallas and would definitely go back. To check out some more of those rib shacks and BBQ pits.
Thank you all for reading, And hopefully I will be here more until I find some gainful employment.
